Features HubPages Should Add - Help for Writers
What Should HubPages Add?
HubPages is a great place at which to write, but I think they should add some more features to further enhance the writing--and reading--experience. Sure, HubPages has a lot of nice features, but there are some things I've noticed--as have other hubbers--that just need to be added in order to make things run more smoothly or make more sense. Here are several.
The current HubPages voting tabs
More Voting Tabs at End of Hub
I really wish HubPages would add more voting options at the end of a hub. How many times do you read a recipe hub and want to click on "delicious"? Or what about "refreshing," whether for a recipe hub or any hub that gives you a breath of fresh air? A reader once told me that she would have chosen "refreshing" for my hub if there were such a choice. That word choice made me feel great! "Unique" would be an excellent addition, as would "excellent." And there are some hubs that are just freaking adorable. Why not add "adorable" as a choice? And "insightful" or "brilliant"? Someone else recently said she wanted to click on "super cute."
Okay, maybe that would be too many to add all of those, but couldn't we add a few more than the five--useful, funny, awesome, beautiful, interesting--that we have? Those voting tabs just don't seem to be enough to cover the whole gamut of emotions that hit us after reading a hub. Speaking of emotions, what about "touching"? Also, since this site depends on writing, what about adding the option of "well-written" or "perfect grammar." Okay, those options may take up too much room, but you see what I mean. Readers need more options to really be able to express themselves!
Like Button similar to Facebook
Do you ever read another hubber's comment on either your hub or another's hub and wish you could just click on "like" as you do on Facebook? If that were an option, then we could show our support on the comments we read. This would reflect our interest as well as show that people are actually reading the comments. I think this feature would enhance the commenting venue.
Show Number of Hubbers Following
Follow (598) Victoria Lynn
I have actually asked this in the forums. We can easily see how many followers we have on HubPages by looking at the number up to the left of our name and profile picture. However, there is no such place that shows the number of people that we are following ourselves. The only way to know is to go to your account and look under "people I'm following" and manually count them. What a pain. It would be nice to keep up with that number, so that when it got too large, it would alert a hubber to go look at the list to see if there were any who needed to be deleted, such as hubbers who are no longer active in the community. Following others just for the sake of following doesn't do anything for us, and it's easy to lose sight of all the hubbers we're following.
Update: This feature has been added! Woo hoo!
Bring Back the Suggested Tags Feature
What happened to the "tags" feature? I found the "suggested tags" feature to be very helpful when editing a hub. You know, that's the option to the right where you also see "reorder," "settings," "summary," "group," and "help." This feature was helpful at offering up suggestions for tags to add to attract readers. A month of so ago, this helpful little feature disappeared. I mean, it is still there, but it doesn't give any suggestions when clicked on. It's a challenge to think of all the tags that might be helpful for a search. HubPages really needs to bring back the suggested tags feature! Where did it go?

More HubPages features to add?
I'm sure there are more features that I would wish for HubPages to add, but I can't think of any right now. So I guess that's not too bad to just have four on my wish list. They are important ones, though, I think. What about you? Do you have some additional features you would like added that I haven't mentioned? If so, please share below in the comment section. If your wish coincides with one I've thought about before, I'll add it to my own list..if you don't mind. Maybe the HubPages' powers-that-be will read my suggestions and your comments...and listen to us. If not, that's also added to my wish list...that they DO read our suggestions and listen to us. Maybe in time. I'm content for now. I won't raise too much of a fuss.
