Perhaps not everyone thinks of the well-known Overstock as a place to purchase back to school supplies. Well, it’s not the best place for supplies such as pencils and binders, but the site does have great deals on items that college students load up on before heading back to the dorm or apartment. Check out some of their mark-downs!

Bedding at Overstock

When my roommate and I would head to school, we would make sure we had our matching sheet sets. While that might not be for everyone, it was cool for us. (Oh—and matching comforters, too!) Overstock has the perfect back to school set for just 22 bucks. Now that’s a perfect price for a college student. If Mom is footing the bill, it might be wise to go for those with a higher thread count, but even those are affordable, with some marked down at over 50% off!

Go for prints, stripes, or other prints! And don’t you just love those micro-plush blankets? About $20 will get you one to cuddle up with. Check out the down comforter sets, too, starting at just under $40. Hey—and don’t dismiss matching ones. Matching beds do look pretty cool in a small dorm room.

Bath Towels and Robes

Now that I think about it, I think that my college roommate and I may have bought matching towels, too. We really got into that whole matching thing, for a while. Maybe it made us feel that we belonged somewhere on a big campus.

You don’t need a whole lot of towels. We would use one (per person—not sharing!) a week, hang it up in the room, and then wash the towel with our laundry on the weekends. For $20 to $30, you can find some nice sets at Overstock. A set of four to six towels will last for a while if you don’t wash them daily. You can opt to spend more or less depending on how luxurious you want your towels. Most college students aren’t too picky, in my experience.

Bath robes are pretty important for students living in a dormitory. If there are no showers in the room—as is usually the case—then a walk to and from the shower is a must. It’s just easy to throw on a robe and head down the hallway. Ladies can get a plush spa robe at Overstock in really cool colors of pink, lavender, and more for about $26. Overstock has robes for guys and gals for many different prices and colors. Definitely worth checking out.

Toiletries

Toiletries are a must when packing for college. Now, while Overstock’s bath products and other toiletries may be more expensive than those at the typical supercenter, they have some really cool and quality items. Brands like Liz Claiborne and Prada, along with ingredients such as tea tree, lemon, honey, and eucalyptus just really jump out.

Definitely cheaper than salon prices, Overstock has a tremendous selection of shampoos and conditioners, body washes, soaps, and shower gels. Facial washes and makeup such as Bare Minerals are worth checking out, as well. Some of these products may be a bit of a splurge, but you’re getting good deals on really high quality items that will help you take really good care of yourself while many miles from home. Pick up some vitamins, too! Yeah, they carry them!

Backpacks and Luggage

Just $25 will provide a college kid a backpack for lugging books across campus or a duffel bag for a weekend trip home. Rolling bags will cost a bit more but are extremely handy. Smaller organizer bags are convenient for toiletries and other items. These range in price.

Clothing

Overstock has clothing, too. Check out the clearance section first with several blouses and pants under 20 bucks. There are lots of cool clothing styles for both males and females. College students need a number of casual outfits plus the occasional dress-up outfit for a dance or other special event. Overstock has it all, along with jackets and coats, and even a swimsuit for the pool that is hopefully right on campus to enjoy after a long day of classes.

Save on Back to School College Supplies

Before you shop, grab an Overstock promo code. You’ll find other of your favorite stores such as Kohls, Target, Best Buy, and more through DiscountStory.com. With these coupons, stocking up on back to school needs won’t cost as much as expected, saving more money for important things such as ordering pizza! I know that my roommate and I did that plenty in the dormitory—usually on Sunday nights when we got back from visits home. Priorities, right?
