How to Keep Your Hubber Score High
93I Waited...and Felt Honored When I Hit 100....
Is There a Way to Keep Your Hub Score High?
First, I don’t want this hub—or even the title—to sound arrogant, as if I have all the answers or am a great hubber because my score has stayed in the 90’s once it got there. I have read wonderful hubs from hubbers who have scores of 100 as well as great articles from hubbers whose score may fluctuate greatly, and may be in the 80’s or even 70’s. I don’t know all the factors that affect hub scores. I’ve researched a lot over the past five months that I’ve been involved with HubPages, but I don’t claim to have all the answers. Still, since I joined HubPages, once my score rose above 90, it has stayed above 90, often hovering near 100. On December 24th, 2011, my hubber score actually reached 100 for a day. That was exciting. And although I don’t know that I was really qualified to be there or even to write this hub, I’ll go ahead and give it a shot and try to explain why I think my hubber score has stayed high over my first five months.
It does take some time for the initial score to rise. I remember afer I first started, watching my hubber score at 28 or so, rising several points per day, moreso as I wrote more, and finally hitting the 90 mark. Once I hit 90, I have stayed there and above. My average score seems to be 95 to 97. I have gone as low as 92 or as high as 99. Hoping for that 100 was something I thought would never happen. I understand how elusive it is, though, as there are some great 100 hubbers out there—Patty Inglish, Kathryn Vercillo, Saddle Rider, and more—and I don’t even pretend to be on their level. I also know there are some wonderful writers out there who are frustrated by their score not rising to the level they'd like (and probably deserve). I can't explain those incidences, and my advice isn't a guarantee, but perhaps it will arm new hubbers with some basic information to focus on. As a new hubber, it's hard to know what direction to take, so maybe my suggestions can help.
Tips for Keeping Your Hubber Score High
How has my scored stayed in the 90’s, and even usually in the high 90s? I’m not sure, but I’ll give you the tips I’ve used in the five months I’ve been a part of HubPages.
Write High-quality Hubs
I spend a lot of time making sure the hubs sound right, the words sound right, the grammar is correct, and the typos don’t exist. I go back over hubs over the months to check them again and correct things that I find when I go back and look. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to grammar, so I can’t help myself from going back and looking at my older hubs from time to time I am mortified when I find an error. I also try to publish at least one hub per week, although I don't always achieve that goal.
Be Involved and Make Comments
Be involved!
Answer questions that are asked and ask your own. I have done a lot of that to where my accolades reflect that I have asked and answered 100 questions. Answer questions that you see. Get involved in forums, too.
Make comments!
Commenting on other hubs makes a difference and will also bring more traffic to your own hubs as you get more followers. I try to read 2 to 5 hubs per day and make comments.
Research SEO and Backlinks
Learning about key words and linking to other hubs and sites may increase scores. I’m busy with my day job as well as trying to write hubs in my spare time, so researching SEO is on the backburner for me. I do try to submit my hubs to a few sites at times, at least Facebook and Twitter. I consider Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Delicious, among others. Other than that, I'm trying to learn more about this subject as I go.

Thanks Victoria. I'm aware that I have a long way to go on this experience and will keep improving my own writing. We are learning and feeling good when we see that our hubs are being read. You have proved that your work, research and drive..has paid off. Thanks again Victoria and Happy new year!
LORD
Well, I think you reached 100 because you are involved in this site, this happily addictive writing site, which I now read more than the Huffington site. And, as you say and suggest, be involved. I thought this was a worthy hub to write also. Thanks!
This is a fabulous hub that not only teaches readers how you achieved a 100 hubber score, but also how to be a part of this community and gain new followers. Voted up, useful, etc. Thank you so much for sharing.
Nice to have hit 100.
Congratulations and thank you for the tips. Very useful!
Thanks for the advice! I'll try to input some of these methods into my hub account like commenting! - which is what I'm doing now
Morning Victoria.
It's nice getting info that one can understand.
Thanks for letting us know how you do it.
I have just had my 1st birthday on hubpages and don't ever remember being under 90 mind you i was here a couple of months before i realised what this number was.
Getting the wording and spelling correct is also one of my "must have right" peev's and to help me in this quest i use "Open Office". This free programm helps me two ways. 1st i write my hub fully in O-O this way the spell checker lets me know straight away of a typo's and 2nd i can edit my hub easly and move the script around to suit the hub. When it is finished i do a split screne, one half with O-O and my story and the other half with HP and the "Start a new Hub" page. Then i just do a drag and drop, finish with a little bit of checking and write a summary then publish.
Using O-O i can start a lot of different hubs at once and save them untill finished.
You've given our newbies a lot of info Victoria lets hope it is used and we have some new interesting hubs to read.
UP/A/I/U
Take care and have a nice day.
LOL Ghaelach
This is good info. And Congratulations on hitting 100!
Thank you for these wonderful suggestions on how to keep the hubber score high!
Congratulation for 100. I have never passed beyond 94. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you for the encouragement to "keep writing and keep learning." I will have to do research on how to link my work to other hubs...I'm a newbie. Vote up!
Great tips! When I reached 90 for the first time, I have also stayed above it ever since with scores between 92-95 most of the time. I attribute my high scores to ALL of the factors that you mentioned. It is a daily effort but well worth it. I know that this will be a great resource for others.
I think you are right on. How else could you explain such a score, in such a short time on Hubpages? I have written two hubs and one is pure original content and the other is from my point of view in my on words. Needless to say, the one with pure originality has the highest score.
Congratulations Victoria! You are doing something right. My score lingers around 89 and even with one great hub, it doesn't seem to budge. I had a lot of poetry in my file each with a hub score in the 60's.. I am deleting these low scoring hubs, no matter how much I am attached to them and seeing if that makes a difference. You are very gracious to share your secrets with the rest of us. Keep up the fabulous work!
You are a great writer and deserve your 100 so I am in no way against that, but I have given 150% writing here in another name also and I think that if you are not a "hub suck" you might say or if you ever say anything opposing anyone here, you will never get what you deserve. That just had to be said and you can look at James A Watkins to see that is true, if not me. I think that is a little sad that people are allowed to sabotage, and I have had one of my highest ones ever just recently continually attacked and marked down because the man does not believe in Christmas. I have fellow hubbers who did not agree with my religious views attack and probably still are after many months. Most people would have probably given up and ran by now but I won't. I will use hubs to suit me, but I do think all should be warned that you can be the best one here, such as James and not be able to reach a 90. I really think HubPages should knock anyone off for good that keeps voting down a person or hub. One vote I can see but if we get lower scores for this, that and another, why not for sabotaging someone?
Victoria Lynn - How exciting! Congrats on hitting 100! It is my goal too!
But I have also discovered something. You can be too involved. I do not have a day job, per se. And I spent alot of time on the site and with the 30 in 30, in the hub challenge forum. And my score dropped. The more I participated, the more it dropped. After reading further, I found that too much participation can be viewed as spam by the algorithm. Just a note of warning. I am up to 90 today and hope to be able to stay in the 90's.
Once again, congrats - I know it must feel good, and I know you have worked for it and deserve it! Great job!
Thanks Victoria for leaving my remark because I do think it is important people know this can happen. It had happened to me long before James but I am hoping hubpages take a look at someone like him and what an asset he is to hubpages to maybe take new steps to prevent this. It certainly is of no benefit to them to allow this. You would be surprised at ones right in your hubs doing this, when you get someone following you and making great comments they go to them and say things about you and even make them afraid to follow you, how about that...again, thanks.
I meant to tell you earlier, I'm glad you happened to catch it and get a snapshot of it. Blessings
..aha the great Victoria of Lynn - here is a hub I will post to my lucky FACEBOOK page with your name on it and a direct link back here - informative, honest, witty and helpful - did I just describe your writing here - why yes I did and I am proud of it - and for the record - lol - epi doesen't give a hoot in heck about silly hub scores - although pretty girls at my hubs are more than welcome - lol lol - especially if they can write like VICTORIA LYNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lake erie time 5:55am
Nice to have hit 100.
I wish I could do that.
Don't look now - but it is 1 p.m. CST and you are at 100 again! Congrats!
Congratulations on 100!
I got to 99 once -
Thank you for sharing, you must be doing something right!
This is a good topic to write about and many hubbers would like an answer. While my score (low 90's) attracts my attention, it doesn't affect me much one way or the other. I just love to write articles that I hope will help others. And you have done that here. Excellent!
Congrats on hitting the big 100 for a day! And thanks for the helpful tips!
Congrats both on the article--and on consistent high hub scores--I am fairly new here and it is nice to be able to hear about peoples' successes--Happy New Year to you!
Congrats for scoring 100.I like the tips.voted up.
Thanks! As a new hubber, I'm trying to learn as much as possible. I am thankful to folks like you who share their Hub wisdom.
Thank you for the information. It should deem very useful.
Wow! Congrats on your Hubscore of 100. I know we all covet that score. These tips are great and judging by the content and grammar in this hub, I know that all your hubs must be equally awesome. :)
I am glad that you reached 100! I made it up to 98 once...but haven't been able to get higher than that...I decided not to worry about the score too much and just enjoy writing - it was after I quit trying that I got the 98! Great ideas though and I will use them!
Awesome article. Im still new so I'm just trying to learn the ins and outs of all the scores we have. Thanks.
I saw the snapshot of your 100 and it suited you very well, maybe a bit more sparkly or a bit of of a glow would have matched that smile.
I think Homewardbound is right too much activity can work in reverse. A while ago I took a wekk 8 days off and did nothing but my score still rose 3 points. I usually sit around the 95 mark give or take one or two.
There is also hub=hopping which will add to your activity.
Good luck and I hope you reach that 100 again.
Thank you for this excellent article. You gave sound advice that is needful. Well done!
My Author Score was between 97 and 100 for two years. One day, I had a bit of a scrum with a member of HubPages Staff who demonetized my longtime best-moneymaking article because of comments a visitor made, which I then erased but to no avail. I awoke the next day with an Author Score of 86 and it has not risen about 90 since (six months).
As far as hub hopping goes I only do it when I am up to date and have a few spare minutes, which isn't very often. Lol, but occasionally you will come across something that really interests you
Thank you Victoria for this great advice! I am gonna try some of these methods you mentioned and see what happens? Although I did start using some of the methods you had described, I will continue researching information on SEO, backlinks, and placing my Hubs on social media sites other than Twitter and Facebook. May you continue writing great articles such as this!
Hi Victoria, many thanks for the infor on this. The advice has certainly helped as my business partner and I were only talking about what makes your hub score increase last night.
I have also read that not including a summary in your hub can also effect your hub score, need to verify this, maybe someone here can say if this is true or not.
Thanks again and happy hubbing!
Rhys
i have just joined a few hours ago and i think the tips that you have given above are great.....and encouraging for starters. Also reading your old hubs again and again to improve is a great idea.....
Great helpful hub! I will take your advice and thank you!
Thanks for the wonderful tips and suggestions. As a new hubber, I read most of the material available in Learning Center here. Finding it a bit too overwhelming. So many dos and don'ts to follow. Reading your hub has calmed me down. It made me realize that others too have gone through these pangs and came out winners.
Victoria - great advice, I do basically the same thing. I just wish I was making like a dollar a day now, I'm still making about 15 cents a day..well written!
Great work, Victoria Lynn -- congrats on hitting 100! Interestingly, my own score tends to drop with more participation (following new hubbers, leaving comments, and the like). As homesteadbound suggested, the algorithm may recognize "too much" participation as spam. But I agree with vocalcoach: while the hubber score does attract my attention, I try not to let it affect my writing. Thanks for a very informative hub!
Congrats on hitting the 100 hubber score. I find my score goes up and down and up and down depending on the amount of views I get, how much I participate in answering questions in the feed as well as in the forums.
Up, useful and awesome!
Congratulations Victoria for hitting 100 Hubber score. I move between 92 to 95, and would like to touch 100 by following the tips, few of which I already know.
Hey Vicki, my authorscore has never reached higher than 96 and has been as low as 87 during my entire time here. I know a lot of the factors has to do with publishing and leaving comments on other people's articles, that much is for certain. Your tips here are very useful and should help a lot of people, including myself. LOL! :) Voted up and useful! :)
This was well written and helpful. A win-win. I'm off to read and comment on other hubs. Your suggestion of two a day is totally manageable. Thanks!
Hi Victoria Lynn,
Thanks for a great Hub. After 5 weeks of writing for hubpages, I notice that hubs about being a hubber seem to get a lot of comments. I think it was good that you pointed out that hubbers need to be patient about their score. There are a lot of factors that go into your hub score, but I do notice that making comments seems to increase my score. You are also right about the quality of the hub. Thanks again and take care. Voted this up and left feedback.
Healthwriterbob
Hello Victoria Lynn, being a new hubwriter has been quite interesting for me. I'm slowly learning through lots of trials & errors. Making lots of comments on different hubs has increased my hubscore tremendously. I appreciate all the tips that you have given so that I can write a more effective hub. Also, I find myself coming up with lots of other titles to write about through researching other hubs. Again, thank you for writing such a wonderful hub. Your suggestions are well taken.
I love your photo!:) Congrats again on your 100 hubscore! You always score a 100 with me! Excellent hub!
Dear Victoria,
Congratulations on fabulous score of 100!
It's beautiful that you are reaching out to help new people already. This community is awesome that way.
This has been helpful for me. While happy, I would love to get a smidge past my highest of '95' (usually 90-94).
You are now the second person who has spoken of the value of answering questions, which I have not yet made the time to check out. This article is now my incentive.
Voted UP & UABI- enjoy your day, mar.
Vicki, this is great! Congratulations on your 100! Being on HubPages has been a learning experience and continues to be. I love the interaction with other hubbers, and feel it is so important to visit other pages. I think your advice is grand!! Thanks for writing the hub! Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting!
Good advice, there is so much to learn on HP and when you are working as well the time you spend here is sometimes limited and some days I find that I can be on here for hours and not realize it. Yesterday I was on for a few hours tweaking and learning and my score actually went down. :(
Thanks for your tips. I think I should ask more questions, I am not really one for that, but it may be worth a try.
Victoria, you described me in this hub. I've been hovering at about 80-86 and it is beyond me what to do to raise it. At first I thought I wasn't posting often enough. I write 1-2 times per week. Then I thought maybe I needed to comment more. I do the proofing and re-proofing often so most (all?) of my hubs are grammatically sound and what I believe to be well-written. Perhaps a few of the oldest ones need some more tending...which I happily do. Whatever. Thanks for trying to help us all figure this out! :)
I am pretty new to this, but my observation in regards to my hub score is twofold.
I think you have to stay consistently involved: writing quality hubs, commenting on hubs, asking questions, answering questions.
As far as I can tell, the score lags by a day or so, so for you other newbies, when your score climbs into the mid 80s, don't slow down, keep up the pace.
I'm sure you deserve your score. Newbies as well as old hubbers benefit from your hubs.
Good advice. As a newbie (been a member a while, but just started writing hubs recently), I followed too many people, thinking I was being encouraging. It dropped my score to a ONE! Yikes. However, people in the forums helped me and it is back on the rise. It's good to have some additional tips to work with.
Congrats on this hub being the #1 Hottest Hub and the #1 Best Hub at this time! 10:39 EST 01/07/12 :))
thanks that is really good advice. I know i have to do this. I am going in china to market a few four star hotels in a few days, hopefully it will spark my creative writing :)
Thanks for the useful advice Victoria Lynn .. voted up + useful!
My score fluctuates between 87 - 91. I'm focusing on consistently creating well written, high quality hubs that provide useful information. I have some way to go on this, but I will definitely get there. But I must do better on the community participation.
Btw, congrats on the Hottest Hub ranking!
Thanks. I'm taking away a few god nuggets from this hub to hopefully go implement myself!!!
Very useful hub! Congratulations on hitting score 100! Thank you so much for sharing your success and providing tips, how to keep hub score high.
This hub was inspiring and awesome. You're really promoting the dream by keeping your score high. You prove consistently integral as a contributor to your fanbase.
There's something about affiliate marketing that reconciles the individual with the rising tides of a changing economy. Affiliate marketing - yet another wonderful venue which agrees with corporate America but still graces us simple folks with a real chance at directing the determined affluences of our unique, individual perspectives.
Keep reading, keep ingesting and chewing up new knowledge; keep feeding your intellect and continue sharing. You'll never cease to grow if you continue with these initiatives.
I hit 100 several times a quite a while back. Then HP said we could no longer link to our own hubs if they weren't related. The more I instituted HP's new policies, the more my traffic and score declined. I no longer write on HP as a result. It just isn't worth my time anymore.
I'm glad it's working for you. Somebody needs to benefit from the changes. Congratulations and good luck. You are a good writer and deserve to be read.
I'm sure, i will get more knowledge through your post. It really enlightening.
Oh Yes ! Congratulation on 100 too.
Thumps Up.
Congratulation on hitting 100 and thanks for sharing. Will definitely follow your advice.
Nice guide, Thank you.
Thank you for your informative article. It's good for new hubbers like myself, to know what it takes to reach 100 score.Congratulations for hitting 100.
Thank you for the advice, I will definitely have to keep this in mind. Especially SEO.
This Hub is Great and Informative. Great Job....
Thanks so much for the advice.
- A beginner Hubber
These are some great tips that will help me as I use this website. Thanks!
Excellent hub and good advice. Congrats on reaching 100 for a day!
Thanks so much! I didn't know you could link to stumbleupon and delicious!
Great Hub Im 2 weeks in and this advice helps me! Thanks again!
Thank you for this information. It will help people who are new hubber like me.
Great hub!
Congrats on almost a perfect score! :)
Interesting Hub! As a new hubber, it's great to read informative pieces like this that I've you some tips.
Great hub! I've always wondered how to achieve that more than 90 hubber score. This hub really gave me some insights!
Congratulations! Stable Hubber Score of 90's is a good acheivement. Thanks for the tips.
thanks for the info and advice.
Thanks Victoria! this is only my second day hubbing and this was super helpful :)
thank you so much lynn , great tips for beginner to hubs like me , once again thank you
I've only written one hub so far, but this was the first hubbing reference I used. It's inspiring to see that a bit of serious involvement in this community goes a long way, and "How to keep your hubber score high" was very encouraging and made serious hubbing seem more feasible. Thanks, Victoria, I'll be following your advice closely ;)
These are all helpful and great tips. I have wondered what the trick is. Great work. I found that this was helpful and will use some of the advice that you mentioned in this hub. thanks for helping out others. voted up and voted useful.
Very helpful!!
Thanks Victoria...I learned something. I don't think I've ever asked a question, and I've only answered a few. Most of my time here is spent reading hubs, but now I'll try to make time for the questions. There are so many wonderful writers here, and yes I agree, the scores don't nearly seem high enough for some. I think the whole idea of a high score is to get a better placement on the Google searches, so it dosen't make much sense that HubPages would allow the scores to be low, if not warranted. Maybe I'll ask. Thanks again and congratulations!
Yes, inspiring. You really embody the initiatives of a devoted Hubber here in this post. Anyone who wants to be successful and form a viewer-base here needs to follow-through with the quality vs. quantity notion.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Really useful tips which I am definitely going to try.
Congratulations on hitting that mark. Such a nice feat to have. This are helpful tips. SEO and backlinks do make our hub scores improve and are things other people overlook.
Awesome tips for getting a better score. Do you have any other ideas on getting backlinks to your hubs besides social bookmarking?
Great stuff. I'm currently working on my company's reputation management and you have some really good tips. Backlinks are really important for the sites you want to push up in rankings. I think the higher your hub score is, the better outgoing links do in providing backlinks to other sites as well.
Congratulations and thanks for the helpful tips; I am just a newbie and can use all the info I can gather. Best of luck in the future with your writings.
What a great hub I've stumbled upon here and with the hubpage itself having a score of 100, and your personal hubscore being 96, you clearly know what you're talking about :).
I find that the more active on the site I am with commenting, asking and answering questions, creating hubs and so on, the higher my score. When I'm away from the site for a few days typically my hubber score drops somewhat. This stands to reason I suppose, and as such I intend to create more hubs this year. It's my New Year's Resolution. Let's hope I'm better at sticking with it than I usually am.
I'm a new hubber. Thank you for this!
Interesting hub, Victoria. But it's funny to see folks suggesting the many things I do not do as being essential to achieving a 100 score here. I usually see the dollar score every few days or so and don't do anything special--especially backlinking--to help my score. Truth is, no one knows what is required. Sorry! :)
Randy SSSSS
Congratulations on hitting 100. My score seems to be stagnant in 80-90 range, I need to follow your tips to improve it further. Great hub. Thanks and Voted up!
Thank you for the tips, they gave me a few ideas that I had not considered for my Hubs, and my profile! great work :D
Just starting on hubs and have bookmarked this for future reference - thanks. :-)
hi ms. victoria lynn. thank you for sharing these great tips on maintaining a high hub score. i admit this is always one of my problems here. there are times when my hub score is very high then after a few days, it will suddenly drop.. with your tips, i now know that writing an interesting topic is not enough..getting involved in forums, comments, as well as making questions do matter.
Thank you for the advice. I found it very helpful. Ive written one hub and I think I am more nervous to write the second one actually.
Hi Victoria .... This is day1 for me and your hub is the second one I've read. I have written down your advice re reading 2 to 5 hubs a day and making appropriate comments. So that is in my list as I start to develop my hubpages and hopefully share some positive hub content. Thanks for your input!
Hi Victoria, thanks for the advice. I just posted up my first hub and will try to learn more as I go along..=)
Well done Victoria, and thanks for the tips!
I am new at Hub pages and facing a dilemma of low score :( My first hub was just 55. So bad! I should have done some homework. Now I won't disclose my hubber score, that's even low. Your article was a boosting force for me. Will work harder for a perfect 100.
First, congratulations on reaching 100! That must have felt so awesome, even if only for a moment. And with your involvement and desire to help others, I have no doubt that you will reach it again! Thank you for sharing this information and helping us with tips to make our scores better and aim to reach 100!
Thanks a lot. Feels good to connect with people :)
Hi Victoria,
Great Hub thanks for sharing your tips on getting the seemingly elusive 100 hubber score.
I have been writing on HubPages off and on now for 2 years this month and I have yet to hit the 100 mark.
Maybe I should add "hitting a 100 hubber score" to my list of new year resolutions :)
Cheers,
Grant.
I'm thinking of going back to improve my old hubs. I have made som changes to some already. You are doing a great job keeping your hubber score this high. This hub must be voted up! :)
Wonderful idea. Every serious Hubber needs to review their content and constantly re-evaluate their marketing directives and techniques. Marketing is touchy business and what you represent commercially says a lot about who you are as an individual. Improving your foundation will only help you grow higher.
Thank you so much for this hub! I am a baby to this site and am very eager to learn!
Great hub that makes a lot of sense! Thanks!
very helpful and quite inspiring. congrats on your achievements.
thanks for the informative hub!
your welcome
Thank you for the helpful info! As a brand new hubber, this helps me a lot as I think about future food hubs!
Great hub, lots of useful info here. Im a new hubber so this will come in handy, thanks!
My score has always stayed in the 90s too. I do all the things you listed here so I guess I know why! Thanks this was an interesting and helpful hub! Voted up and useful!
It all sounds simple enough, but if that were the case, everyone would be doing it. I like the realistic approach you took to the tips and I know I can follow those to help my score reach 100 (there's just something about seeing those high scores:) Now that I believe I have a sufficient understanding of HubPages, I definitely know the value in quality content and using SEO and backlinks. I'm also ashamed to say I recently just accidentally figured out how to backlink and went back to all the necessary hubs I wrote to do so.
P.S. I'm a grammar perfectionist as well
actually content is the king in any blog or hub.it is only beacuse of content one can attract other users.seo(search engine optimization) comes after when you have finished writing your hub and want to make it popular.
Really this article helped me a lot as a new to hub community. The points are clearly stated which i liked most. Beside all the article is a must read for begginers.
Congratulations on hitting 100. I've often wondered how hubbers accomplish that. Thanks for the tips as well. I will keep persevering and hope to achieve 100 one day also.
Thanks for the great tips, I'll need to use of those tips a bit more frequently. congrats Victoria
I agree with you in that staying involved with other Hubbers is really important. If you don't participate it is almost impossible to get followers. I have stayed above 90 for a few months as well and I think winning 2 Hub of the Day nominations has helped stabilize my score; it doesn't really go down now, even if I go on vacations for a while.
On the other hand, I haven't been too focused in my general score but I think a high Hubber score helps you get credibility with other hubbers, what do you think having I high Hubber score is good for?
Thanks for this great hub. I'm a newbie here so it's hard for me sometimes to even understand what the number means, let alone understand how to raise it! SEO is also very confusing to me. This is great advice.
Thanks for the advice. I'm new here and learning more everyday from other hubbers like you. Keep it up.
Congratulations on your 100! Any hub like this is a help to newcomers. I have been here a few months and enjoy reading and commenting on good hubs. If I don't consider the hub worthwhile, I don't leave a comment because someone else may find it valuable. I haven't published anything yet because I haven't gotten all the technicalities down pat. It seems to take hubs like this to explain between the lines. Thanks.
Well, with all these comments, you must be doing something right! Good job. I just joined today and my score is 54 or so. I stumbled upon your page after searching "score" from the HUB site. Also, thank you for your attention to detail; proper grammar might not be a lost art after all. I too, become mortified at overlooked writing mistakes. Lol...slightly petty, I'm sure. :)
Victoria, not only has your hub helped me tremendously but many of the comments contain either additional help or encouragement (especially from your replies), both of which we Happy Hubbers all need. I think I will go write about something now, with all this renewed knowledge and encouragement. It's something sad that I've put off, but now I think is the perfect time for getting those feelings out. Thank you so much for writing this!
Very informative
Very encouraging to see someone started a few months ago already hit 100 score! Saying in the 90's is a super record - and I think from reading all your answers above it will stay high! Great job!
Thanks... Awesome Post... Will help a Lot...
The fact that we must read other hubs and make pertinent comments helps me as I get used to this new world...thanks for the info!
thanks for the tips...great hub work!!!
Informative, and to the point. Thanks! You let me know that I was on the right track, and to keep doing what I am doing. Be well!
Congratulations, lovely to get that validation! Such great tips, I have only recently come back to Hub Pages and am finally reading the 'rules' and following through on all the tips. Appreciate you sharing your experience, thanks so much!
Thanks so much for your insight!
Great Hub and always Great Inspiration from your suggestions as well as your writings. Love your hubs
good guide thank you
Thank you for writing this hub and sharing on your success. Being a new hubber I appreciate the advice. I look forward to reading more of your hubs.
Thanks again Victoria for great tips! They are greatly appreciated! I look forward to reading more of your hubs!
As a new Hubber, I've been a little overwhelmed! Thanks for the info on ratings and the reasonable goal for community participation! I don't have a ton of time, but 2-5 posts/comments a day is manageable!
Thanks much Victoria for an useful hub guide. Newbies need all the help they can get and your hub actually came up in the search on hubpages. BTW Congrats on your great Hubscore!
Dr.Kavita
I've done everything you recommended and my hubber score doesn't seem to break 93. There must be something more involved. Voting this Up and Interesting anyway.
Thank you Victoria, this gives me inspiration :)
I just got started yesterday and my hubber score dropped 6 points, even though my submitted articles gained a couple of points each overnight. This article helped because now I know that this is fairly common and will improve. Thanks so much! :)
I am an active participant in the community but I my score always fluctuates between 90 and 95. I reached 97 once but it was short lived. My Hub scores then to be a little higher, averaging in the mid to higher 90's. Thanks Victoria, you confirmed that i already doing these right. I guess I will have to wait and see.
Thanks for the tips. I hope I can get a hub score that reach up to a 100 too :D
100 is my goal also I hope that will achieve, normally I won't leave a message but after reading your hub, I am writing this now, thanks for the tips!
Alas, I've been doing all your recommendations for longer than you have and with more hubs, but my score hovers in the low 90s. Of course, whether my hubs are actually quality is subjecting. Voting this Up and Interesting.
Great and very useful tips, Thanks a lot!
Congratulations for hitting 100. That was wonderful. Your hub is very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing!
wow thanks for the tips :)
Thank you..I just started and this was really inspiring.
Thanks for the information, good hub.
I've never really paid the scores much attention until you brought awareness. Honestly I didn't even know what the numbers meant. Even thought I assumed it meant good. Thanks for the advice.
thanx
Thank-you for the article, I am fairly new to HubPages and wanted to learn more about the scoring. Very helpful.
wow.. thank u for the cool and honest write.. indeed very helpful... voted up!
Thank You Victoria Lynn,
Just a bit mystified when it comes to the elusive Hub score and why it can fluctuate so much in a single day. For many months my score has stabilized in the mid 80's except for today when it dropped just below that mark. Your article was encouraging and reasonable, one hub per week is a good goal to set. I also agree to succeed in this community of very talented writers you have to be social and interact, this is key. Thanks again for the inspiration to move forward and continue towards that magic number of 100. Congratulations on a perfect Hub.
Thank you for sharing, I am new to Hub Pages, and I already feel that itch to be in the top spot. I have been a writer my whole life, just never shared my writing with anyone before. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for the hub.
Thanks for putting this out there. Now that I have been here for a couple of weeks I am starting to feel more confident about putting opinions and ideas out there. I used to just do it with my art(graphic designer)but now that I am on lay off I find myself with free time and no artistic outlets. Looking for more helpful tips in the future.
Thank you this is helpful.
Thanks for sharing such nice tips for High Score at HubPages
Thanks victoria lynn for the great post ..This is nice
Wow! This is really informative! My author score used to be really high, but as I've been spending more time writing, I've been spending less and less time commenting. I've noticed my hubscore has been going down. Now I know that I should probably be commenting more. I'll have to spend some time every few days and comment on all the hubs I come across! Thanks for the tips!
Great work Victoria, very informative and motivates the newbies to put more effort into reading other hubs, commenting, asking questions. It's full of advice, thanks for sharing.
In my perception its nearly behind fact..
Well, your hub certainly helped me and judging from the other comments I'm not alone. Thanks for the info and great hub for us newbies.
Thanks for this great hub. I can see that I need to read more hubs and leave comments, as well as engaging in questions and answers. Very helpful--voted useful and interesting.
Reaching a 100 score with a hub is not easy to do! I think you made an excellent point when you advised people to interact with the Hub Pages community. Writing a great hub is not enough to earn a high score. You need to get involved. Comment on other people's hubs, ask questions, and vote for the hubs you like. This is one of the keys to reaching a high score. Thanks for the tips.
Congratulations for hitting a score of 100. Even mine went to 90 once but then it dropped to 86 now but I am happy with it as long as I have good readers for my hubs.
Awesome, glad to see you still got 100% - I'll follow your advice for sure as I've got a way to go :-)
I loved this Hub, I'm going to bookmark it!
I'm constantly striving to write better, and to keep up with my comments. Sometimes Though, I find it to be more difficult because I wake up to 10 comments, and fan mail. But this Hub is GREAT. It sounds so simple, but it takes a lot of work!
I'm looking forward to trying out these tips!
Voted up!
Kudos on hitting the 100 barrier Victoria! This is all very encouraging as a new comer! Thanks for the advice.
I love the advice, especially from a credible source. It looks like you had a 100 5 months ago, and you have a 100 today. You obviously know what you're talking about
ahh, stumble upon and reddit and Digg- that's a good idea too. I always forget about them. Do you re-publish your hubs on another blog site as well or only on hub pages?
Victoria, thanks! Your tips are of great help, especially for hub-beginners! =)
I am a newbie to the hub pages. great information. Thank you very much. I always thought writing more and more will increase my score. but now realized that promoting the hum may also increase my score high.
i remember, so far, the highest score I've got was 94. Congratulations Victoria on hitting 100. Your hub score is still 100 at the time of this comment. =)
Wow. One day, I know, I'd also be able to enjoy those double O's.
Thank you for this explanation! I had no idea what the score meant!
Thank you for the tips and information Victoria Lynn. It's a big help for me since I am new to Hub Pages. Voted up.
Great advice on how to keep your hub score high. This information is valuable to both new and old alike.
I have been 100 twice for a little while, but I think part of it has to do with forum activity which I don't regularly do now. As a result, I am fluctuating in the mid-90s for the most part.
What is your tolerance for dumb questions? I really want to know. Have you had a significant financial return for your effort?
My hub score hit 100 last week. That was the first time in about a year. It jumped after I had written a few new hubs and my Google traffic increased dramatically from about 2 or 3 different hubs. It then fell to 94 and rose again to 99. Participating in forums and commenting also helps.
VERY INFORMATIVE HUB. I have started writing and these tips will surely prove helpful for me. Good work.
I'm new to HubPages so this was extremely informative for me. Thank you for sharing.
Congratulations on your score and also congratulations on all the comments you received. I started reading each one till I realized they were stretching out into infinity! Thanks for sharing your easy tips. I have often wondered myself how the score is computed. Even when I am not writing, I make an effort to read other hubs, leave comments, and get involved in questions. Although not nearly as much as I would like. I am also always amazed at which of my hubs get constant attention. Interesting!
So, thanks again for the informative hub, and keep hubbing!
Vern
Congratulations, if this hub is anything to go by, you deserve it.
These are very helpful tips. I'm working on getting up to the higher numbers, so this was very useful for me :) Thanks for sharing. And congrats on all your hard work paying off!
Wow! Victoria this hub was fantastic and you've gotten rave reviews and that's so wonderful! Congratulations lady you nailed this one! I must admit I've only gotten as high as 92 and my score continues to fluctuate downward!:( I think I've written some very good hubs too! They are short and to the point. I don't believe in writing long lengthy articles unless I'm writing a story, mystery stories is what I love. I try to stay active posting hubs, answering questions as well as asking them. I've even gone back into older hubs to edit and modify to make them better and most of the time my score just stays the same but you know its funny, I was absent from hubpages for nearly 4 1/2 mos with no activity until shortly after one day I logged in and that's when I had a score of 92! It was interesting and recently I been very active and today my score 86 which I find interesting too! You've posted some great info here with some tips that I've haven't tried but will and we will see. Keep doing your thing girl! I look forward to reading more and stop by my hubpage sometime as well! Blessings to you! :)
Congratulations and thank you for the tips.
I have written one hubs after reading this hub..
These are wonderful tips. Some I do regularly while some rarely. I need to be active in the forums. Thanks for the reminder and sharing these thoughts.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful tips. I get frustrated with my hub score. I will try to participate in all those activities on daily bases and try to improve my hub score.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day!
Lots of great info in not only the hub - but also the comments... I enjoyed this one very much
enjoyed the hub and the comments. I am only starting out and its a bit bewildering at times. Thanks for the help.
Thanks, I'm new here. I want to be as good as you some days.
Thanks for writing this! It's a great hub, especially for a beginner like me :)
Great hub, congrats on achieving the 100 score, I was excited when I hit 90 :)
Very helpful information. thank you for sharing
Thanks Victoria! I've been here for 3 weeks and my score is still only 70 so I'm doing everything I can to try to get it up. I've written nearly 10 articles across a range of topics but my score is stagnating, or so it feels! Is it really true that all I should keep doing is writing; commenting on other hubs and voting up other articles? I read that it helps to link to other hubs in your own articles. DO you have an opinion about that? Cheers.
That's awesome, thanks for such a great info & helping other get their hubs on TOP!!!
Nice Hub, very informative. I am only a newbie but I do not know if adding various content increases the score? i.e. try to add a photo a video some links and a few promoter sales to each Hub. Ive done that in my first few and my score seems to be on the up. I think also getting likes from site like Facebook helps and Pinterest is a great new tool for anyone who has not used it.
Many thanks
Victoria Lynn, Nice encouraging and very motivating hub for new hubbers, just following your tip by commenting but really your hub is very encouraging and i have a long way to go, happy writing..... and keep motivating new hubbers.
Victoria Lynn (cool middle name by the way) I love this hub. Being fairly new to HubPages, I am always trying to find articles that will help me with my writing and submitting. I actually just read your Hub on the "5 Things you Should Know...." and before I left a comment I saw this link so read this as well! Very well done and I look forward to not only reading more of your Hubs but also writing more of mine!
Voted up!
Lisa Lynn :-)
Constant working with conviction and confidence paves the way to achieve the goal. Struggle never goes waste and at the appointed time the results come out. But remember there is constant checking every moment and a moments slip brings downfall as well. Many Many factory count in bringing the top success an a human is to err. There should be no losing of heart and constant mending of the error in whatever area it may be is the key to success. Many fellow Hubbers have got a hundred but the special feature in your getting is a long list of congratulations from all of us. The reason is that you have left nothing unknown for the hub writers and encouraged them to try again and again. By doing so you have not lost anything; rather you have gained many appreciations. This is an additional tip.
May God bless all every where.
Thank you for a very interesting, useful and motivating hub. You are very humble with your high score. I Vote up for great and practical advice.
Hi, Thanks for sharing your advice here. This is great that how you achieved the high score.
Thank you for sharing. Makes a lot of sense.
Thanks for the insightful article. We are new to the Hub and are really liking it so far.
Hi Girl,
Congratulations on hotting 100 hub score. Thank you for your honest knowledge about hub pages. Love your hub!
I'm relatively new in HPs. I've been a member for a year but have only started writing again recently. Thanks for this article. It's enlightening!
Thanks Victoria for sharing your Experience with us.Very encouraging Hub to all Hubbers to achieve high score.
Thanks for the advice. I'm particular about what I have in my hubs,I might have more written if I wasn't so detailed about my writing. Will take your advice to heart and hope for high hub scores.
greetings, many thanks for this great informative hub! i too am new to this site, and still learning, i actually learned more from your hub than the help pages. as i was still new and a little bewildered to everything ( in addition to not being the most technically savvy :-/ i inadvertantly attempted to change the title of my first hub. next thing i know the hub was unpublished as i mistakenly made a duplicate, with the hub pages police writing this material was copied from another source. so i tried to go back and take off the other hub with the changed first title and now that one was unpublished as well saying it is a duplicate. i tried to write an email to the help pages, but to no avail, as they just kept sending what is obviously an automated email saying do not copy other work, etc. this caused a good deal of embarassment with my students as i sent them the link to read my hub, then at the lesson i was informed by them the hub was unpublished. so, i learned a great deal from your hub and now feel motivated to continue, as i was thinking of deleting my account. thanks for the info and motivation ! ( any advice re: above situation will be greatly appreciated)
jamila
Very informational thank you for sharing. It's good to keep an open mind and wright about everything. Well done.
Aside from educating, your hub obviously inspired as well. Thank you.
Thank you Victoria for your insightful post. It's always informative to hear how one of 'us' becomes one of 'you.' In the end we're still all one of 'us' trying to figure this whole thing out, right? :)
Best wishes for continued success.
Congrats! Thanks for the informative post. I'm sitting in the 80's but i figure i'll get there someday.
This is a great hub, it's useful and a general, but awesome, way to keep your score in the 90's. I hit 100 a few times, but to be honest, I have no secret behind it. I comment on hubs, answer questions and sometimes write in forums, but only when it peaks my interest. I am just fortunate some find my work worth reading.
Great information, thanks! As a fairly new hubber I'm still trying to get a feel for this. I sit around the 80's as well but I'm cool with that until something catches the attention of others. It's nice to see some high level commenters help comment on stuff to help us out as well.
Well simple ideas and opinions Victoria yet you have made it to share. You have said in your hub that be involved. Then I would like to involve also in your hubs and also share it to my friends. Anyway, all of us hubbers are trying to keep our scores high, thus, we must work for it and helping other hubbers too. Thank you for your great encouragement to us. Keep up your good work and if you have some time, just drop some comments on my hubs too. :)
Well, I do feel much better after reading your Hub. Thanks for the advice. I panicked when I saw that one of my Hubs was losing traffic. I did go back to it and punched it up a bit using advice from other Hubs. Will hang in there.
Fine Job This one is 100 too!
Great Info
Thank you very much for the great hub! I'm happy for your success! But you what's interesting? When I first started- my score has always been around 70, even though English is not my native language. If you get a chance, can you please take a look at one of my hubs (I have only 3)? Can you give me your honest opinion about my writing? :) and thank you again for your tips! :)
Vicki...This hub is an invaluable treasure to me! Sunshine sent me the link because I am one of the hubbers in your hub who gets a bit frustrated as well as confused in terms of understanding the fluctuating scores. I can honestly say that I feel I consistently do what you have suggested (except for the "social networks") I feel much better and more enlightened thanks to you sharing with us. My score has constantly remained in the 90's since it first got there, so I guess I'm OK after all!! My range has been 90 to 97 & of course, everything in between! You're an Angel. Up & ++
Great advice..Thank you for sharing.
Great tips. Thanks for sharing.
I read your stuff and all the others I read, because I think the authors are great and write wonderfully interesting hubs. I firmly believe Vickie, as soon as we think we know all we need to know and stop "learning," we've done ourselves an unforgiveable injustice.
You know Sunshine.....The Hubpages PIMP of all pimps! She always heads me in the best directions.
Hello Victoria:
Well I have to admit that you must be doing something right, because upon reading this hub, it has a score of 99. And you know the individual hubscore thing, has baffled me as well. Sometimes I comment a lot during one week, or a few days. And then it may be a good week, or more before I make any comments, or participate in the forums. And as with yourself. My score has always been in the 90's and even has been at 100 on more then one occasion. It's definitely a mystery, that could drive us all to sheer madness if we dwell on it too long. I believe that you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned writing high quality content and/or hubs. As writers on this platform, I believe we owe that to ourselves and particularly the audience who reads our articles. I also am guilty of writing my articles so quickly and not giving them a second look,or even three to search for improper grammar or typos. This is important and also most likely a reflection of our hubber score. The main thing going forward for me however, is to write more articles, why? because like yourself and every other individual on hubpages, we all love the written word. Otherwise we wouldn't be here in the first place. Loved your hub-voted it up and thought it to be awesome as well. Good job!
Jim
First, i would like to personally congradulate you for reaching a 100 hubscore and maintaining your score in the 90's. that'great. Hopefully, one day I will be up there with you!
Victoria:
You're quite welcome and I'll keep an eye out on some of your future hubs as well. Happy writing!
Jim
You bet!! (:
Thank you. Very encouraging hub. The hubber score is a huge mystery for me. I still do not understand how it works, but this hub is inspiring. I hope that someday I will be able to produce high quality content that will help me to earn the highest score available.
Was inactive for a long period of time. Your tips will definitely reach me into the 90's. Thanx a lot!
...you are STILL inspiring people with this Hub...holy moley!
Wow...look at the comments. You did a great Job on this hub. You deserve 100 score.
Thanks for the tips, Victoria Lynn. You do have a great hubber score! I can't get my score to 90 yet which is frustrating, but will keep trying. Maybe backlinks will be the key. There's so much to learn! : )
A fantastic and useful post thank you! My Hubber score is quite high in my opinion, it tends to range in the 88-93 mark, but my goal is to eventually reach the 96-100 mark. Hopefully this hub will help me get there! :D
fantastic hub with great information thanks for sharing!
Great tips Victoria! Voted up, awesome, and useful. This really helps a lot. I have always wondered about that complicated formula:)
I think if i keep continue to update my profile by posting fresh content, forum discussion and commenting, atleast my score will not drop.
Thank you for your invaluable advice.I hope quality content gets noticed.
I think it may be a while before I get up to 90 or 100 but it certainly is a great goal! I see there are some very respected authors in this community. Thanks for the excellent tips!
I have to agree with Olivia. However whether or not it was helpful I'm not sure as I just published my first Hub, but I'm sure it was. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you, for contributing to the hub community. Too many people try to place themselves above others, and it is those who are selfless that true deserve the notoriety in my opinion. Again, thank you for the information.
Thanks,
This gives me some good ideas as a beginner.
Keep up the good writing.
Danger01
gud one! thnkx for sharing
Congratulations on hitting the top. I have noticed other 100 hubbers and I too am little mystified - how do they do it - like acing a math test or something. Thanks for giving your experience and for being humble like "how did that happen". As John Lennon says, life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. Maybe someday I will see 100 too :) Voted up and interesting.
Points noted! Congratz for perfect 100 and thanks
These are essential tips for the rest of us and also applies to blogging as well!
I am struggling to get my hubscore to 75. However it does increase. Hope new comments and hubs will help me increase the score.
This hub is a must read for all new hubbers. Thanks Victoria for writing such informative post. Can u pls tell me whether this hubber score helps in gaining more traffic or not..I am also interested to know if it has any direct correlation with Hubpages ad program.
This is something I'm trying to work on, so this was very helpful. Great hub!
Thanks! Just submitted my first hub today. Your post is very timely for me and insightful. Good luck with yours!
Hi Victoria, a very insightful piece of work, definitely a must read for newbies, and relative newbies like myself. I like the way you present the information, very clear and easy to read. Thank you and voted up etc.
Great Hub !! Look forward to following these techniques...
Thank you Victoria for a wealth of information. Really great easy-to-follow tips and techniques for us newbies. Voted up :-)
I've hit 100 three times when I was writing more. Now that I'm rested, maybe I can conjure up something. Good writing and a attractive avatar makes for much traffic. I need a glamour shot...
Nice, informative article.
How to's are great resources, and this one helps a lot.
Ah, still not hit that 100 yet, I think my highest was 95! Which took a lot of effort. You are right though, it takes a lot of activity to reach a score like that, let alone hold onto it.
Thanks for SHARING your tips.
Hi Lynn, this hub is recommended by missolive. Yes, it really helped me as a new Hubber. Thanks!
Wow! Your hub has SO many comments. You definitely hit a vibrant nerve with the hub community here, Victoria! Great advice, especially for newbies like myself. My score isn't bad, but I am struggling to navigate the whole SEO scene...Thanks for clarifying some of this for me!
That was very informative. Basically the main thing is to keep active on here every day and the score should be maintained I think. SEO and other techniques you mentioned are important for drawing people to read Hubs too! Cheers!
Wow..thanks for the information and great hub again..I am a hubber of around 85, but my hub scores hover around 69 to 89 or 90..I have done everything I can to get them up. Granted some hubs are just hubs, but most of my hubs I really and truly give it my all.
Thanks for your great information..I think, it's very useful for me..Best regards !!
great hub, thank you. i am new to hub pages and i find this very useful. voted up.
Victoria Lynn, you said you keep writing and learning. I would like to add "...and sharing". You share some very useful ideas. You pass on what you have learnt and this is very helpful to other hubbers who are new or who do not have the time to do all the necessary research. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Victoria Lynn, I am having a great time on HubPages!
Great information! I'm new to hubpages, so I've been reading a lot of hubs on how to make this the best experience. Thanks for this.
Congratulations on hitting 100.
These are all useful points that are important to follow to keep one's score high. I can attest to that.
Although, I don't know the actual algorithm that's used or what actually affects our score, I do agree with you that being active in the HP community in every way, is the most important. And like you said, it is the best way to bring more traffic as well.
I see a lot of newbies who think they can get traffic by following a bunch of people. They don't realize that if they don't actually read the Hubs of those they follow, then their score will fall like a rock. The fact that you make it a point to read a few Hubs a day is one thing that goes a long way to a high score. And it's a win-win both ways.
Thank you for your experience sharing with us.
thanks for the information very useful!
Great info! I have to admit that I haven't been commenting as much as I did when I first joined the site. I'm working on it though! Good luck on reaching 100 again. If I ever made it to 100, I'd be tickled pink!
indeed a very nice and informative hub :)
Very useful information. Congratulations on achieving 100.
Hi this is good article thanks for sharing .
I am new here and this article is very useful to me, thanks.
i am new to hub pages and this article helped me a lot and i keep on learning hub pages whenever i gets free time...hope your articles too will help me in the coming days...
Great info. One reason I think you reached 100 is that you write well and on a variety of subjects. Keep at it! Rated up and following you.
I think your Hub score is very high because of the engagement you do in your hub. Your interaction with the commenter makes it attracted to more traffic. Plus, I think the topic itself...so, it's more of a combination with that.
By the way, if you don't mind... with such high Hub score, how much traffic you're receiving daily? I remember someone in the questions section, who was asking how much a Hubber earns?
Nice tips... specially the SEO thing, I bet a lot of people here don't know about it.
Very useful and interesting information in this hub Victoria. Thanks for sharing. Voted up, interesting and useful :)
Congrats! I've noticed a few of your hubs consistently up in the 99 and 100 range. You are doing great! I agree with the points you addressed in your hub, and I'm glad you mentioned them, it reassures me and I think I am doing something right!! :-) Voted up!
Thank you for these wonderful hub
I really appreciate this hub! Thank you for simplifying the terminology used during the set up process. I am on day 2 of being on Hubpages and Love the community vibe of it. I didn't realize that going back and editing my one and only Hub would help to increase my score. There is so much to learn! Thanks again
Thanks for the info Lynn. I have been trying to gain ground from my present score...but didn't actually managed to get into the 90s. Hope this info will be of use.
I had to come back to read this hub again as I am trying tofind ways to increase my hub pages and each time I read it I find something else to focus on thanks again for the great tips found in your hub Lynn!
Actually, I was looking for such a hup. Victoria u r great writer. Thanks a lot for quality and interesting posts)))
Thank you for the information. As an starting writer this is a great article for me!
hi everyone, i´m new in this page and i need your help victoria.
Hi Victoria this is very interesting hub, thank you for sharing it with us :-)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Victoria. I have to confess that I clicked on your link because you have the same name as me, only I have one less 'n' in my Lyn :) I'm new to this and am learning the ropes but I like your writing style and I don't think you sound arrogant at all. All the best, Victoria Lyn
Great Advise. Thanks. I have just started recently and am trying to reach the 75 score. The tips will surely help me to do that.
Thanks for sharing...it is interesting to read your insights...my score fluctuates between 86 and 92. I go over and over my hubs and review and reread and like you am mortified when I find an error which I do find. I will keep plugging away as I really enjoy writing on hubpages.
i write good hubs and I involve with my friend hubbers and commenting answering everyday.. but one thing you mentioned is SEO. what is this and how to succeed in SEO?
Can non-seo person do seo? my field is finance and commerce can i do this? how much time i should have for all such seo and making backlinks from hubs?
Thankyou for helping us beginners.I try to write things that are interesting to others.
Thank You for this article. It was motivational for me and helpful. Now I know what I must do to attain high score levels.
I joined hubpages last night and really feeling lucky to find this hub. Really really awesome! Thanks a lot for the useful hub. I'll definitely try to have an awesome hubber score like you ^_^
Thankyou. I'm learning as I go. This hub gave me some good advice!
Victoria, my hubber score reached 99 one day this week and I yelped. I remember when I told myself I was going to take a picture of it if it ever reached that high and, of course, I forgot. I have revisited your hub and can reiterate that based on my own experience now that I have stayed in the 90s because of the desire to write good quality content and being very active in the site. There is a lot of value in having followers, not having sloppy hubs for the sake of having a hub (that's not the way to go at all), reading content and leaving meaningful comments. So, I'm glad your hub is still being reviewed and circulated. Happy St. Paddy's Day, Happy Spring!!
My friend always says about HP : Always active in HP whether submit post or comment or poll or follow any hub .
If you do that your score will high. After reading this post ,My friend was right .
Thanks for sharing nice information .
Victoria, where do you find the time to write 65 hubs? LOL. That's amazing.
Another useful hub. I agree it's important to stay active on here to maintain a high score. If you're inactive for a week, it drops a bit. What happens if you don't log in for a whole month though?
Thanks for the hub. I keep going up and down. Most hubs hover in the 70-75. Have a few that are 78 and up. I write the best I can and I write things that I have lived through or know about and that's all I can do
my hub score has been driving crazy, so I'm bookmarking this so I can go back and recheck every once in a while. Thanks for this info, I hope it helps me!
Wow! I guess I am growing quite fond of your writing. :) By the way, the level of comments in this hub makes perfect sense of your hubscore. I wish I could be there too. By the way, i am not jealous of you. As a very new hubber, I guess I am slowly learning the ways to get into the community and I guess that is something that matters the most. Thanks for a nice hub with brilliant tips. :)
Great post, hopefully we can all produce content with the same quality and deservedly keep our score high.
Thanks alot for sharing this hub, im new in town so it really has helped me.
Hello Victoria, and thanks for a wonderful hub, very informative and motivating I should say. I am relatively new here with just 2 hubs in 3 months, obviously a lazy hubber at that...hubs like your motivate me to sit up and spend more time on this wonderful site....thanks again
Hello Victoria,
I like your writing. Very sincere advice indeed. Thanks a lot for the motivating ideas.
Dang I think the highest i ever got was an 87. Kudos to you!
I appreciate your thoughts and insights. I am a newby, @ a month on or so. I have 11 hubs thus far, and hit in the 90's a couple of times, but not so much now. I think I need to follow more, and interact more in order to gain score. Your comments are useful, and I intend to follow your lead. Thanks.
This hub is a source of encouragement for a beginner like me,.I Expect more such hubs from you.
I'm fairly new here, trying to educate myself. I am learning so much as I read, but then you can do anything at all. yours have helped with great hubs& trying to help us newbies. :)
I really enjoyed your hub. It is always nice to read about someone else experiences and not feel so alone.
Thanks for the tips! I'm just getting started so I DEFINITELY need the advice. My score is pretty pathetic so far but I'm hoping to get it built up over the next few weeks.
I'm new to the hub and I'm so glad I came across this. Very helpful, I may have to come back and re read this a few times to be sure Im following these tips. Thanks!
I have heard so much about this hub! I thought I'd already commented, in fact. But, gasp, I haven't. I sooo don't get the score. I try not to worry about it, but I know you can relate, Cyber Sis. I mean, we're perfectionists. I try to do everything right. My score has generally hovered between 90 and 96 - but I've always stayed in the 90s since I got there. *sigh* I wonder if pageviews have something to do with it. In any case, I had to come back here several times just to look and see if there's anything more I can do. ;)
Thanks for the information, I've been curious about how I could increase my hub score. I'll keep these ideas in mind.
My target now is 75 score , wish me luck.
Hi Victoria, great hub. I'm still new here, but was actually lucky enough to get a 75 score from my very 1st hub. However, I did notice that you have to keep updating and adding new info to maintain that score,...so thanks for the helpful info. :)
Victoria, thanks for another helpful hub. I really appreciate all the tips. Voted up and useful.
Lisa
great hub. I haven't done all those stuff you pointed out. I will do them right away.
Congratulations on hitting 100, and thank you for the useful information in easily understandable language, and encouragement!
Great article! Very informative, detailed, and in-depth. Thanks for your Hubs, keep up the good work and congratulations on reaching 100!
I did my very first HUB today! 04/10/2012 And many to come. I type my HUB's on "Word" and check grammar and spelling, then copy and paste it. I am doing my best to place video HUB's to see what happens too. I think people like to see who you are and your face. I am not good looking but I do have funny facial expressions!

Based on your score and comments you deserve that 100! :)
Very informative for hubbers like myself trying to crack the 90-100 range!
Great Hub - One thing I chuckle about is the hub score. If you log on often to check your readership and to reply when you can... it seems to go down - as someone said above if you are too involved you are considered spam - under involved drops your score too.... My traffic has been stable and often my hub score goes down when traffic is going up.... I have personally got to the point I do not care what score i have... I've been in the 90's and as low as in the teens... all while my traffic is up or stable. Because it seems not to influence traffic, "The hub score thingy is to me useless." LOL
Thanks for your insight - and thanks to all the other posts in comments I thank you all as well.
Victoria Lynn, I really appreciate your positive input and ideas hopefully I will see scores that high sometime in the future. Thanks!
congradulation victoria. I wondered, with in 9months your score is very high. thanks to share this ideas with us.
I am glad I came across your hub, it helped me to understand it a little more and gave me a better understanding of the hubscore. I have been asking and answering questions for sometime and have noticed that my score is staying in the 90's, so according to your hub I am doing something right...Voted Up..
this has inspired me to polish my hubs and create marvelous one... thanks for the tips hopefully i could hit the 100 hub score!
I see you're still at 100 and have almost doubled the number of hubs you've written since this one, so I congratulate you on your consistent rating of excellence.
My experience has been similar to yours except I am less prolific. I agree with the suggestions you've given here.
Voted up across the board except for funny.
This is a very useful hub, especially for those who are new to Hub Pages.
Thank you for your insight. It is very encouraging to see that it is possible to maintain such a high score. I will heed your advice and increase my commitment to be involved.
I have NEVER seen so many comments on one hub! I had to be a part of it. :D Great work!
Thanks, I am going to try for 100 too. I'll come back when I get it!
Great Tips!
I have read that including quality content, relevant pictures, videos also includes the hub score.
Anyway great hub..thanks.
:)
Thank you for the tips.I'm glad that you have shared us some inputs on how to get high scores in our hub contents.
Congratulations great tips and very nice hub for starters like me
I have to admit, you tips showed some results in my hub earning. I commented 5 hubs yesterday and earned 40cents today with increased followers. Though the amount is small, I am happy with the result. Thanks Victoria lynn!!
Great hub! I have a feeling that having unpublished hubs has a negative effect on the score. I have hubs that I started years ago after doing keyword research and never published. I notice most of my hubs have high scores, but those are very low. Their average keeps me in the 90s.
Voted up!
seems very useful for me as a new comer. Thanks victoria lynn
Great tips. Whilst I don't pay alot of attention to my hub score, I think its one of those things that can get additive so I try to avoid it, I do notice its the days where I try to be more involved in the community that my hub score is higher.
great informations dear.it really inspire me to focus again on hub writng. lynn you are
simply beautiful.
Nice work! Thanks for sharing your secrets! As a new hub member I am trying to read tons of other blogs, follow them, comment and read. How do you keep yourself motivated to get involved each day? Is setting small daily goals the key?
Nice hub and I keeping myself to stay tuned with all these ideas. Thanks for sharing.
This is not only an amazing but also a very inspiring hub. Hopefully I'll be able to achieve the same score some day. I'm just 2 walks into hp. I'll definitely follow you to get updates and tips in the future. Thank you for this Victoria Lynn.
Thanks for sharing what has worked for you. I am trying to get more involved in the community here as well as writing (hopefully) useful hubs and my score is gradually rising.
Wow! I am impressed by your very simple answers but extremely resourceful. I never thought it will be like that. Let me start by writing my first comment as an apprenticeship to ranking high in hub pages. Thanks and I voted up.
Wonderful info. We are yet to get there. Thanks for letting us know where we go wrong. Take care
Really good info on hubber score. This still leaves me scratching my head at times. I stay in the 80s but have gotten to low 90s a few times. Seems that when I publish a hub, my scores lowers for a bit before going back up. I've never understood that. Appreciate the tips.
I am working hard to rank and and remain relevant in my industry. Thus I call all these 'my apprenticeship' to a writing guru on hub pages. But I will check out on the apprenticeship thing on hub pages. Thanks. Your work is educative. I have just written a new article precisely sparked by your resourceful guidelines. Keep writing.
This hub was very useful to me as a new member, Thanks
Great hub. My Hubscore is just struggling between top 80's. I hope i can do what you are doing to stay in 90's. Voted across and shared.
Thanks for posting i am new to the whole Hubber thing. SO this a good reference to get me started and up and running with confidence.
Thanks for this great hub. I've learn something today that can benefit me well on my future hubs. Thanks again.
Great practical tips. I've been commenting a lot more lately and this hub reinforces that.
wow! i think it took me half hour to scroll through all the comments :-) Congratulations on getting a hubscore of 100. I have also stayed above 90, my highest being 98. I hope one day to reach 100 like you did. Thank you for sharing this great information, Voted up :-)
Well I came across an article that I wanted to read, and then wanted to comment on. Now I have a Hub page. Not necessarily a journey that I had been searching for...but we will see what happens. Now, I researching on how best to use this account. Thank you for the information.
wow thanks! as a new hubber this really helped me out
These are great tips, thank-you. I had noticed your high score and it is nice of you to share the details with us. HubPages really is a great community. Take care.
I vote up this hub. Great tips and advice. Thanks for sharing. I am not as active as other hubbers but I am trying my best to rebound. For almost four years I got only several hubs. Maybe I can make my hubs shoot up ranking by being active, for the time being Huh!
I learned that the whole SEO and keyword research "science" - well, the art of taking your article to the No. 1 spot in the search results - actually keeps me away from writing regularly. I think I'm going to follow my own intuition and write without thinking about these things. Maybe I get lucky lol As for the hub score, I'm satisfied with it for now because it's steady even if I make a long pause regarding commenting or publishing. Useful hub, though, it makes one think!
