What Can I Do with Photoshop? Review of Adobe Photoshop

Updated on July 8, 2015

Photoshop is amazing!

What can you do with Photoshop? From what I'm learning, you can create just about any kind of drawing or photo, even your own piece of Heaven, as shown in the picture below.

Create your own bit of Heaven. All that was real were the clouds. Everything else was added in.

Photoshop is a graphic editing program

I am just discovering what Adobe Photoshop is…and it looks amazing. It’s a graphic editing program, a way to create images from scratch or to alter existing images, aka photos. I’ve messed around some with Paint to draw a few things, but that’s Kindergarten compared to what Adobe Photoshop can do.

Photoshop allows you to alter photos in ways that I used to look at and wonder: how the heck did they do that? You can blur the photo, clone it, or even get rid of something in the picture. You can change colors in the picture, even to sepia to make it look antique, or to black and white

Want to turn your photo into a cartoon? Cartoon-ize yourself or someone else. Change heads with someone. What possibilities. I'm just learning what Photoshop is about, and I'm enthralled. I’m thinking that a person could have a lot of fun with Photoshop!

You can be a model!

Are you tired of looking at those perfect-skinned magazine models? Well, rest assured that some form of Photoshop took away those fine wrinkles, freckles, and other blemishes that we all have. With Photoshop, you can turn yourself into the world's next supermodel!

Change your eyes, your hair, even your body!

Let's look at some more photos that show what Photoshop can do.

The patch tool takes out unwanted parts of photos!

This photo above uses a patch tool that allows you to take out unwanted parts of the photo. You can actually delete items from the picture!

Just think--you can take annoying Aunt Martha out of your family photo! You can delete the accidental stranger who walked into your picture. Delete away. Photoshop can help!

Look at that splash of color!

Add color or black and white to photos

You can also color just part of the photo to make an item stand out. By doing this, you bring attention to the item you want the viewer to see. With Photoshop, you can go from color to black and white and vice versa. Check out this photo with the splash of green to bring attention to what the man is carrying. Neat, huh? Draw attention to what you want to highlight!

Photoshop can create some crazy photos!

You can make some crazy pictures with Photoshop. See the photo below. You can start with a plain photo, such as one below of fields and mountains. Add anything even you want--cows, elephants, scantily clad women...even your friendly neighborhood McDonald's golden arches!

Create scrapbooks and photo albums!

Next, check out this sample scrapbook page. Silvergenes, who also writes on HubPages, has a site devoted to digital graphic family books--scrapbooks, photo albums, and more. The site offers several different types of graphic pages and kits to download for family album projects. Here is a a sample background from her Naturals collection, showing what could be created on a family scrapbook page. Her site is a terrific example of digital graphics using Adobe Photoshop.

Could Photoshop help your career?

I won’t lie and say that Adobe Photoshop isn’t expensive. It is costly, but it can do incredible things. Photoshop can enhance, revise, add to or delete, even totally change your pictures. If you’re in the field of photography, journalism, or other related fields, Photoshop could be well worth the investment.

Here are some more cool photoshopped photos.

Online coupons for Adobe Photoshop

Consider the possibilities. I know I am. I can't seem to stop looking at all the examples of photoshopped pictures I'm finding on the web. If you are thinking about buying Photoshop, Apple does have some online coupon codes that can help cut down on the cost. While you’re looking, remember that Apple also has the vastly popular iPhone and savings to go with it. If you’re considering a MacBook or iPad, you can also save online on these products. I don’t know if I’m going to go out and purchase Adobe Photoshop anytime soon, but I am interested in what it can do and will continue to learn more about it. If you’re in the market to purchase this great software, there are Apple’s Adobe coupons and other online coupons available. Happy Photoshopping!
